Eating a Plant-Based Diet Changed My Life!

Let me tell you how changing my diet changed my life!

 

For the last 5 days I’ve been doing a green smoothie cleanse & today I’m juicing. Although, I eat pretty healthy with a diet that I describe as “Plant-based Pescatarian”, I still have a sweet tooth when it comes to cake & baked goods. Hence, the reason why I needed to cleanse my system.

The funny part is I’m doing this only to get ready for cake on my birthday this Sunday. Lol 😝 I know but it’s my birthday and I must have cake! 🤷🏽‍♀️.  The way that I see it… Everyone must have cake on their birthday.

In case you’re wondering… my version of
“Plant-based Pescatarian” is no dairy, eggs, only eating seafood as my meat, and eating mostly veggies, fruits, and plant-based foods.

I ate a strictly #plantbaseddiet without any meat for over a year.   Buuuuttt I wasn’t putting in the effort to eat the right things for protein and it effected my hair a lot.  My hair began to thin, become brittle, and weak.  From that point, I chose to incorporate fish back into my diet.  Now, I’m making much better choices (excluding the cake) and my hair is once again flourishing which I’m so grateful for.

 


Eating as a plant-based pescatarian has really changed my life and my health greatly. I have learned to love veggies that I would never have eaten before, my energy is great and my digestive system was the most amazing change ever! 👏🏽🙌🏽🌱 (*insert a moment of thankful silence).  If you only knew how many stomach and digestive issues I dealt with; consistently constipated for two weeks at a time or the other extreme of diarrhea and upset stomach, not to mention the bloating.

That alone is worth never going back to meat or dairy.  I was very often sick & now, I can’t tell you the last time I was sick. (*That actually brought tears to my eyes.)  Tears because I remember, one year before I changed to plant-based eating, my ultimate goal was to not have to go to a hospital or doctor for a whole year.  Guess what? I haven’t been in over 3 years now. #praisebreak ✨🙌🏽🙌🏽

Giving up dairy alone greatly changed sinus & congestion issues that I constantly dealt with and took sooo much medicine for plus it shifted my hormones from being all over the place. I could go on and on but I hope to encourage you to try changing your diet to incorporate more plant-based foods if you in any way can relate to some of the things that I’ve shared in this post.
