COVID-19 Birthday Wishes turned God’s Perfect Plan

All smiles because it’s my BIRTHDAY!!

08/16 Baby!    New Beginnings – 8   Whole & Perfect Love of God – 16

I thought I had to do something phenomenal and adventurous for my birthday to be great.  My first plan was to go jet skiing but that didn’t work out.  My next plan was to take a pottery class but they were booked.  Then I thought about a water obstacle course only to realize after further inquiring that it was for kids.  Lol.

With COVID still on the rise here in Texas, it was a bit difficult to find a way to celebrate my birthday with adventure while still social distancing and staying safe.  I’ve been quarantining strong in efforts to be careful not to come in contact with anyone who has been around or infected with COVID then, in turn, going around my parents.

After all of my adventurous plans fell through, I gave up and figured that I’d be just fine doing nothing and staying home.  I was at peace with my decision and planned to just enjoy myself.  I’m all about self-love and self-care, so in this new beginning, I’m intentionally treating myself to the things that make me happy.    If you know me, you know I love cake; Without any plans set, I still ordered a gorgeous cake for myself.  I almost ordered only a sheet cake but I stopped myself and called to update my order to this beautiful cake pictured below.

I never get an all white cake but this year, it was a personal and spiritual meaning with my cake.  My cake was white on the inside and the outside to represent a blank canvas for God to work on and embark on new journeys, new perspectives, and new beginnings of course.  On the inside of the cake, I requested layers that would represent the layers of me that God is healing, renewing, and building.  The outside of my cake was covered in roses with a bit of shimmer which represented the beauty of me as  a woman and a reminder of my evolution and blossoming as I go through the process of my journey.

Before I knew it, my best friend called me and decided to host a birthday dinner for me in her outdoor living space with just a couple of friends.  It was sooo much fun and I hadn’t laughed that hard in a while.  The following morning I had brunch at home with two of my girlfriends and we relaxed just talking and enjoying each other’s company.  That evening I celebrated with my family at home with take-out from one of my favorite restaurants.

I ended up having a simple but very impactful weekend with LOTS of laughs, late nights, great food, delicious cake, lots of love coming from all over the world and my heart literally couldn’t be any happier. God is so good; He knew exactly what I needed! 🙌🏽🙌🏽 A stress- free, chill, but fun weekend that wasn’t overly planned with a scheduled, itinerary.

Special THANK YOU to my friends and family who went out of their way to make sure that my birthday was special.

What did you do this weekend?
